Step 8: So Is It Right?

It depends.

If you’ve gotten through the guide and think an MBA is right for you, check out our business school resources to help get you started!

Remember, an MBA is not the golden ticket to a corner office. There’s no one-size-fits-all formula for a successful career.

For the amount of blood, sweat and tears you’ll shed, an MBA’s worth rests on what you can gain from it. Its relevance depends entirely on whether an advanced degree will help you meet your career goals. For some industries, racking up work experience is a lot more valuable than spending several years in a classroom. And with the current financial crisis in full swing, fewer banks and management consulting firms even require MBAs for the scant jobs they have left.

Use career goals, individual circumstances and job objectives as your compass. If all systems point back to class, an MBA is a good investment for your future.
