Everyone could use a good accountant to help them navigate the world of finance and taxation, but perhaps no segment of the population is in greater need of good money advice than professional athletes.

Several pro jocks pull in more than your average CEO, but with a caveat many of them forget or ignore: athletes’ careers last ten to fifteen years at the most. Toss in gigantic entourages, frivolous purchases, shady financial advisors and high divorce rates (and the alimony and child-support payments that come afterward), and the idea of athletes enjoying generational wealth is often just a myth.
